Hello Free2Bme (great name!) I have many friends who swear by Ester-C. From what I understand, it's a different form of vitamin C that has a neutral pH value of 7. In other words, it's not acidic like traditional types of vitamin C and so it shouldn't cause diarrhea and stomach upset in larger amounts. I think it's also more potent and may stay in your system longer. I think Ester-C has been on the market now for quite some time, so I think it's here to stay rather than be just a "flavor of the month" supplement.

Alison B and alysiak are correct in saying that vitamin C, in no matter what form you take it, has been shown to help strengthen the immune system and ward off colds and infections, so I think it could help with all three things you mention.

Have you taken any other natural remedies? I personally think this cold and flu season has been especially nasty--do you feel a cold coming on right now? I hope you are well, best in health, M
