Yes, it's possible that you're pregnant even if the test was negative, simply because it may have been too early for the test to pick up on pregnancy hormones. But it's more likely that you're simply late, just because of the warm weather, stress, an increase in activity, or a blip in your hormones.
If you are pregnant, most home pregnancy tests will pick up on the HCG hormone in your blood when you are just a couple days late. So I would think by now, you would be fine to take an HPT if you want to. If that test turns up negative, then you're just late. If it's positive, you should call the doctor and go back for another test in her office.
Are you trying to get pregnant? Are you having unprotected sex deliberately? Or are you hoping that you are not pregnant?
