I just read your question (sounds like you and Diane have been working on this), and I am coming into this late...but your question "should I stop taking my pills for now", as your period is late by 5 days), was confusing to me. You said you did not have unprotected sex after your last period, and am not sure why you think you would possibly be pregnant?
If you have menstruated, then that means there is not a viable pregnancy.
