My last period began on Feb. 28. The next day I started on the Nuvaring. I didn't feel so great a couple days later, I assumed it was because of the ring, so I took it out. The following day, March 3, my boyfriend and I had intercourse using a condom, it was my first time. The next day, I began light bleeding/spotting which lasted several days afterwards. I initially thought that the bleeding was from having my first sexual encounter, but then I started to think that perhaps it had something to do with taking out the Nuvaring after only a few days.

It turns out that I got sick the following week and was prescribed antibiotics a week after that. My boyfriend and I had sex again on March 16 and 18. I used the sponge both times, the first time he also pulled out, the second time he did not.

My cycle is usually about 30 days, so I assumed that I would get my period on March 28, but it didn't come. It's now March 31 and still no period, but I did have what felt like a bit of cramping yesterday. I have been worried sick, I can't help but wonder if I am pregnant. I am hoping that my stress and the fact that I had used the Nuvaring early in my cycle, have just thrown things off a bit, but I am still concerned. I already have a pack of birth control pills ready to start once my period comes, as I don't want to go through this stress again. Would it be too early to take a pregnancy test now? How accurate would it be? Can you help put my mind at ease?
