Hi all, thank you for both being so supportive - it is lovely to find such a site!
I am still worrying about it now as my trusty monthly friend still hasn't come along (never in my life did I think i'd miss them but i'm begging for my period to come this month!) but am so grateful for your advice, it has put my mind at ease somewhat. I'm a natural worrier so missing a period in my mind automatically = pregnancy, but of course I know this is not always the case. Its just bizarre for me as I am never late normally, but then have been dwelling for some time as to whether i'm going to come on or not.
My partner and I are always careful and the only times i've been worried about are when he has ejaculated on me, but as I've said this was not near my vagina... infact the silly man managed to get some in my hair once. Not happy! It just worries me as he is my first proper sexual partner (for the precise reason that I didn't want to end up pregnant) and typically I would end up missing a period my first time! My friend who is sexually active did miss her period recently too I think or was very late, but she didn't end up pregnant... so that's always reassuring - but my brain doesn't seem to want to believe that i'm not - anxiety in overdrive!
I apologise for rambling I know you guys must get this all the time, but am very irrationally scared. I just really hope it would be ok, I could not deal with the idea of being pregnant - especially not around exam time where I need to get top grades to get into university!
I am going to see the doctor this Friday just as a more official means, so will let you know how it goes, but very pleased to hear the Home tests are 99 % accurate - I got the more expensive brands (and my purse is still hurting!) just to make sure and both have come back negative about 4 days after my period was due and 8 days - do you think these are pretty reliable then?
Like I say, thank you so much for all the help, nice to know there's a group out there to talk to.
