You are correct when you acknowledge that the pregnancy window of opportunity is only during ovulation and is short lived. If you were aware of your ovulation time and had intercourse after you ovulated you should be safe. Sperm can live in a womans body for 3 to 5 days so if you are using the rhythm method, you should always be aware of that. The withdraw method also works but remember that there is pre-ejaculate that a man releases which can also cause pregnancy.
Have to considered birth control?
Since you are highly stressing about the possibility of pregnancy, this may be causing your period to be delayed. As in my own experience, take a pregnancy test, get a negative result and your period will appear the next day. If you have already missed your regular period, you can take a test now.
