I have to add that I've never been on any form of birth control but the cause of my vestibulodynia is still an inadequately low level of free testosterone. I'm 28. I've had vestibulodynia since the first intercourse. So 8 years now. If your pain and inflammation are confound to the vestibule, check your SHBG, and free testosterone levels. Make sure your doctor calculates the FREE testosterone level. The norm is 0.8. Your body can be producing a normal total amount of testosterone but only free testosterone is available to the vestibule. I never thought this would be the case for me because I've never been on birth control but it turns out low free testosterone is my problem anyway. SHBG and free testosterone levels are definitely worth checking.
