I am 26 and had a hysterectomy They left one ovary and have to go back in to take it out. I feel my life has gotten better. My emotions are better I don't have mood swings like i used to. I do not take hormone shots or pills.I am able to work on my other problems and stay focused on them rather than periods and the pain I was in before. The videos are awful and they are out to scare. Everyone however is different and will take a hysterectomy differently. Some have more mood swings and less depression but it is also changed around. It really depends on what you want and what you are able to handle as well as how strong you and your spouse are. Most doctors and women say that you lose interest in sex but that isn't always the case. I have changed my life dramactically but it is for the better in my eyes.
