To the last Anon comment - I understand your point and using the word "Stupid". I went to the American Heritage Dictionary to look up the defintion(s) of "Stupid". One definition is: "In a stupor; stupefied; slow to apprehend..." Well, and what does "Apprehend" mean? 1. "To take into custody; arrest."; 2. "To grasp mentally; understand."; 3. "To anticipate with anxiety." Perhaps "Stupid" is the right word, at least, I can use it for myself as being "Stupid" for listening to the GYN who did this to me; along with using such replacement words as: 'Trusting', 'Naive', and also 'Having Faith' in placement of "Stupid". If I can state it about myself; I think a lot of women can use it with the same meaning who have been subjected to this. I do appreciate your comment; however. You were trying to be kind, with generous thoughts of women being put down by using this word, but trust me with my comments, and interesting about the definitions, right? No one person here is "blaming the women". I think it is a word used by definition more with intent as I have expessed here (Stupid = Trusting ... Stupid = Having Faith In). You are, I can tell, a sweet soul. You also made some excellent points, and love the comment about a "Sting Operation". Yes! I get such great visuals in my mind on this. Oh, I get a visual of a 'SWAT' team barging into a GYN's office. He is in an exam room, telling one more "Stupid" woman she must have a Hysterectomy. She is so trusting, and believes in him this must be the right thing to do and the only thing to do to save her from such worse things if she doesn't. She has such a 'Faith in' him. After all, he is the doctor, and he must be right and caring about her welfare, her body, and how this will affect her with this surgery. He tells her she will feel even better after the surgery, and her sex life even better also! He uses his 'scare tactics', and she is anxious to get the surgery done asap because she is in fear. He does not discuss alternatives for her two fibroids. He just says that she cannot afford to have one more period even; due to her losing so much blood each month which makes her even more anemic, and she cannot live that way. Oh, she is to the point of "Where do I sign to get into the hospital. I am so scared, doctor!" But then, the SWAT team breaks down the door to the exam room, whisks the woman off the exam table, saving her, and puts the doctor in handcuffs and takes him away. Yes!!! Justice is done, and a woman saved from the evil doctor. Yes, evil. Anyone who wants to tell me a different term/definition rather than using "evil" - hmmm... Definition of Evil - 1. "Morally bad or wrong; wicked; malevolent; sinful: 'an evil tyrant'." 2. "Causing an undesirable condition, as ruin, injury, or pain; harmful; injurious; 'an evil suggestion' - misfortune". (Shall I go on?)
