I was the anon who called women stupid. Sorry I don't mean it but I am SO frustrated. I mean the OP has had all these impassioned pleas not to have the surgery and she still isn't quite convinced! I suppose I was lucky, my parents are very cynical people and they taught me not to trust doctors.
