Hi ,There, I too run long didsance and after my first and only Marathon, I too started to be out of breath. Caughing alot, Yawning and the constant need of taking a deep breath. I did a Buteyko breathing course and this helped out a tremendous amount. The key to this hyperventilation is breathing less. Try breathing through your nose for a week. Even tape up your mouth at night. Its amazing how little oxygen your body does need. Check out Buteyko.
