I have almost similar if not exact symptoms as you do. The first time it happened was some one or two months back, I don't exactly remember if sex triggered it. But the burning sensation occured both during and after urination. The pain and discomfort would usually last for several minutes to sometimes hours. I would usually use cold water to alleviate the burning sensation. It doesn't work perfectly but it's better than without it. The urine analysis test for bacterial infections was negative. My doctor gave an analegesic Phenazopyridine, which is an azo dye that gives a ghastly color to the urine. It's almost like urinating blood. It really didn't help and I discontinued it. Also, I hate the idea of having symptomatic relief when the real cause of the symtom is not known. Anyhow for almost two weeks I drank lots of water, continued using cold water to numb the area a lilltle bit and stopped wearing any kind of tight clothes and the burning was gone! But only to re-occur again and then gone again for a week and it happening again now! So I am thinking its pretty random and I have no clue what's happening to me. Also, I have noticed that the burning is more severe when urinating immediately after waking up in the morning than at other times through the day. Additionally, i feel the sting even near the viginal opening while urinating, but more in the urethral opening. I do not have any abnormal appearance in the area or any vaginal discharge or cloudy urine. I don't think I suffer from non-infectitious cystitis because in my case the pain and discomfort persists even after urination. I have a feeling that it is the urine itself causing the sting. If anyone has any knowledge of what is the cause of all this, please write back. Right now I am searching google for all the possible disease and sumptoms.
