I am too confused when you did/did not take your pills! Since you do have a prescription for pills, then you have a doctor that you can at least call (it's free to talk to the nurse!).

The pill is up to 99% effective at preventing a pregnancy when used consistently and correctly each time. Whenever you miss a pill, this effectiveness rate decreases; and it decreases significantly when missing 3 or more pills in-a-row. There is a chance you could be pregnant, if you are having unprotected intercourse while not taking your pills consistently & correctly.

Spotting, cramping, headaches are common, and expected, when messing with your hormones so much! The pills you are taking contain synthetic hormones (estrogen and progestin, if it is the "combination pill), and if your body does not have these hormones in a steady balance, then you will obviously experience side effects!

Your last period was July 9th, and it would be unlikely that you would be experiencing early pregnancy symptoms....but it is possible. I am confused, though---if you do not have insurance and seeing the doctor is difficult, why the lackadaisical attitude of taking pills to prevent a pregnancy? If you are pregnant, do you have insurance to cover for maternity and prenatal care, or to terminate the unwanted pregnancy? If not...I would move "taking pill" high up on my priority list--be sure to take care of yourself!

There are hormonal contraceptives that do not require you to remember to take the pill every day; many women have this problem too. Please call your doctor/nurse and let them know that you need to be put on the patch, ring, Depo or IUD. You can read more about each of these options at Planned Parenthood, and each of these you only need to remember either once per week, once per month, once every 3 months or just once for insertion (IUD). These are much better options for you, and your doctor should recommend a birth control that fits within your lifestyle!
