If you have continued to take the pill aside from missing that one time, then there is no chance of you being pregnant. A negative pregnancy test generally means you are not pregnant. Those are designed to be very sensitive to hCG hormone you produce when pregnant. Was the test at the clinic a urine test, or a blood test? There are many things that could make you "skip" a period. If your doctor has said to employ "watchful waiting" for your period, then you can do that. Usually, if you miss three periods in a row, the doctor wants to see what could be prohibiting you from getting a period.
