Hi Zandra,
My first "period" was that brown spotting you've been describing. I got my first "period" when I was 15 and now I am 23. Since my first "period" I constantly spot (and by this I mean every day). I usually use panty liners because it's all I really need. When I described the problem to my doctor she said I probably had a hormonal imbalance. She said the only thing that could fix my problem is birthcontrol pills. I went on the pills and i finally had a "normal period". I used them for about a year and stopped. I had a normal period for about two months afterward and then started with my regular brown spotting. I told my doctor about it and she again said it was because of my hormones. She said that sometimes after taking birth control pills the problem fixes itself. But it hasn't. She then told me I have to continue taking them until I decide I want to have children.... This was so disconcerting and Now I'm stuck with the problem since I don't want to take bc pills anymore.
