I have had the mirena for four years now. I LOVE THE MIRENA! OR, so I thought! I have not had a period (only spotting at times) and it has been a very effective form of birth control! I am curious to know if this could be the cause to my LOW sex drive. I have never been a person who needs it everyday but now I could care less. I had the mirena put in after the birth of my only child, I do believe a low sex drive could have been one of the causes to my relationship ending of 6 years. I am absolutley making an appointment with a Dr. and possibly having this thing removed. I agree with everyone else - why have the birth control if you dont EVER want to be intimate?
