Hi Anonymous, I don't believe the 'sharp' cramping is a well known side effect... same for the random chest pain. I have had my mirena out for just over a month now and the only cramping sensation I have experienced was when (what i believe to be) my period started back... but I only felt crampy during the first day. If you haven't already got yours out and are still searching for answers I would strongly recommend getting the Mirena removed. Your can always get another one if the pain doesn't subside after a month or so after having it removed. The sole reason I got mine out was because I was experiencing almost heart attack like chest pain - it was sharp and sudden and I felt like my heart was going to explode... so I finally googled and stumbled upon forum and forums from women all around the world experiencing the same discomfort.
