This is amazingly helpful. I am 28yo and don't have nor want children. I had the copper IUD Paraguard for 5.5 years with absolutely no problems. But after experiencing abdominal pain post-period for about a year and recurrent yeast infections for several months, my GYN recommended I change to Mirena. Hesitantly I agreed, knowing a little about the possible side effects, but wanting to try it myself anyway. I've only had it for a little less than 2 weeks and my sex drive has already been affected. I basically feel nothing when I'm having sex with my fiancé. No lubrication, no arousal. It is already frustrating. I've never had the highest libido, but arousal has NEVER been a problem for me. And for this past week after getting off of my period and the constant spotting after the IUD insertion we finally got to it and I felt nothing. I am calling my GYN ASAP to get it removed and most probably return to Paraguard. I never should have changed. I'd rather deal with pelvic pain once a month than with no sex drive and affect a wonderful relationship.
