From my understanding, bursitis is the inflammation of joints (bursae are small sacs that lubricate our joints, and when these become inflamed, this is known as bursitis).
Bursitis is typically not a chronic condition, like kidney disease can be.
Bursitis is usually caused by overuse, but can be caused by an infection, or can be caused by a chronic condition that increases risk of infection (diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune diseases), according to the Mayo Clinic.
I am not sure of any "link" between bursitis and kidney disease, unless an infection caused both of these conditions. The treatment could have also been the same (another "link"?), if prescribed antibiotics for bursitis inflammation/infection and kidney disease.

Which was diagnosed first, and how has each condition been treated? What type of kidney disease do you have? Where is the bursitis located?
