Well, if you actually read the study, you'll find that it was simply based on data taken from the WHI study, which we all know was seriously flawed anyway. The 139,681 women who took part in the WHI study were all postmenopausal, and had lived 35+ years of their lives since breastfeeding. (Some of them may not even have been able to remember how long they breastfed.) Talk about a huge number of factors involved in their health within those 35+ years that they lived their lives.... Why these researchers feel there's a direct correlation to breastfeeding with the women's cardiovascular health is beyond me.... Gee, I wonder who funded this study. American Academy of Pediatrics, anyone??
This is simply more of the same breastfeeding "breast is best" propaganda we moms are fed all the time. Ugh.
