There's also the question of how you "count" an alcoholic bevrage if you are on a weight-loss plan. For instance, if a glass of wine is 50% larger than the serving specified in the weight-loss plan, and you only count it as one glass of wine, you can thwart your own efforts without really trying.

And I wonder if these supersized portions mean we're drinking more at home. One bottle of beer is still one bottle of beer. But with wine, for instance, if our brains get used to seeing 6 ounces of wine as a serving, and we have two glasses, we've actually had three servings.

It's the same thing as with food -- portion control, portion control, portion control. Now if I can just get my brain to see that, once and for all.
