Hi, Anon,

So glad you found Empowher. Maybe we can help you figure out what's going on.

May I ask how old you are? And are you sexually active?
If so, have you always used condoms?
Are you on birth control, and if so, what kind?
Have you ever had a Pap test, and if so, how long ago was the last one?

You say you have a discharge but not bleeding. Am I correct in assuming that it's time for your period? Are you late, and if so, how many days?

Here is our EmpowHer encyclopedia page on cervical cancer:

https://www.empowher.com/media/reference/cervical-cancer

As you can see, the symptoms are:

-Bleeding between regular menstrual periods
-Bleeding after sexual intercourse, douching, or a pelvic exam (most common)
-Menstrual bleeding that lasts longer and is heavier than usual
-Vaginal bleeding after menopause
-Increased vaginal discharge that is not blood

Is your discharge significantly increased than in the past?

It's normal for women to have vaginal discharges as part of their normal monthly cycle. Often, we don't notice them. Sometimes they are cloudy and milky white; other times they are clear, like egg whites; other times they appear brown, with perhaps some bloody spotting. Discharges can also happen because you are under extra stress or possibly because you are pregnant (might that be the case?) It's hard to know exactly what's going on without some more information.

Here's a page on various vaginal discharges and their causes:

And here is a good overview that includes information about yeast infections and STDs:

http://my.clevelandclinic.org/disorders/Vaginal_Discharge/hic_Vaginal_Discharge.aspx

The Cleveland Clinic says you should see your healthcare provider when or if:
--- Your vaginal discharge changes color, becomes heavier, or smells different, or
--- You notice itching, burning, swelling, or soreness around the vagina.

Is this the case for you? Is this information helpful?
