I hate this commercial. It doesn't make sense. Hot flashes do not make you emotional or street rat crazy. Being street rat crazy is entirely seperate. Sure a cold smoothie might give a menopausal woman a temporary bit of relief from the hot flash, but it's not going to effect the hormones that cause the mood fluctuations. Unless, of course, JITB is putting hormone replacements in their smoothies without telling us.

That's why I hate it, not because it's inherently offensive, but it is offensive due to the fact that it (or whoever wrote it) doesn't even bother to get the facts about menopause right.

It would make more sense if the female said "this smoothie does wonders for my hot flashes, now if only I can find something to help me with these street rat crazy mood swings."

And why is it that whenever I read men posting about how commercials make them look stupid too, it's always the same 3 or 4 commercials they refer to? And what I notice with the commercials I hear mentioned - it's not so much that the 'husband' is made to appear foolish, but rather that the 'wife' is made to appear wise - as if it is an insult to men if females appear smarter than them. But women get brand new offensive commercials almost monthly (perhaps an homage to our cycles?) And the women aren't limited to being the foolish one in a scenario with a husband - it's also the boss, or Jack, or a random guy at a party scheming to get some nookie, or the woman herself just being a natural idiot because she's so dang wild about oreo snack cakes or is simply driven wild by her all-consuming and irrational love for shoes falling out of the sky. Cuz wimmins love shoes of course! grrr.
