Don't lose hope. Regardless of the situation, there is always hope. Bipolar disorder may be a lifelong illess, but I can tell you from my own research and experience that there is no such thing as "hopeless". It is like having diabetes: It has to be managed. Medications provide relief but we must also be willing to find outlets for our emotions, lead a balanced lifestyle, and change our diets. The final one may be the most important. Do some research on diet. There is a website called bipolar-lives.com. A lady discusses her battle with the illness. If I remember right she is a nutrionist and has a book for sale that discusses the various foods you should/shouldn't eat. It is quite informational. So, keep fighting. You will win this! Just because one medication doesn't work for you doesn't mean the other 20+ won't. It is not a race, its a marathon(as my doctor told me).
