I see the question and comments are very old, but after reading the original posts and all the answers, it sounds like all the answers are dead wrong. The absorbency isn't the issue if the wearer is leaking out onto clothing. I also bleed on one side, other side is pure white, but leaks out, and I know they are placed in straight. It doesn't happen every time, but considering the response about cysts, it makes perfect sense. I had trouble with cysts 2008-2011, having four actually rupture. Therefore, I feel that might be a reasonable explanation.
