Have you considered using the predictor kits on days other than 11-16?

I'm like you...I have a cycle that varies from 26-28 days, a few times it was even 25 days. I thought I was ovulating around the 14th day or a few days earlier around 11th...but I now believe I am ovulating around day 8, 9, 10. That seems early, in the cycle, but it makes sense (to bring it back to you and your question)...

Women can ovulate as early as 16 days before their period begins. So, if you have a menstrual cycle that is 26-days, you could possibly ovulate as early as "day 10", maybe even earlier?? Plus, from my readings, many OB/GYNs are saying it is better for the sperm to be "waiting" for the egg to travel through the fallopian tube (where its fertilized), instead of the egg getting their first. That could mean you have intercourse a few days leading up to ovulation, around days 7, 8, 9 of your cycle. And yes, that's probably right as your period is ending.

That's the frustrating part with ovulation...it can occur well-outside the "11-16 cycle-day" window. Women also ovulate "later" in the cycle, into the "day 18", with their expected period only a week away.

For these reasons, experts are recommending couples to have intercourse 2-3 times per week, or every-other day, regardless of when they believe they are ovulating...the window of ovulation is wide (almost 2 weeks), and cycles vary from month-to-month, which makes it nearly impossible to pinpoint accurately each time.

How long have you been trying to conceive? How old are you and your husband? (You have already begun investigating fertility treatment options?)
