Check for a hair in the opening of the nipple. It may sound obscure, but Ive had pain in my left nipple for 2 weeks and after removing a hair inside the opening of the nipple and covering the area, I have no burning or stabbing pain only a minor irritiation from the hair poking and aggravating the area.
