Hi,
Congratulations on you and your husband trying to have a baby...this can be an exciting time!
If your last period began on May 14th ("day 1"), and today is June 14th ("day 32"), then I am assuming you are expecting your period to begin any day now? How long are your cycles typically (meaning: how long between the start of one period to the start of your next period?). The most common "normal range" for cycles are between 25-35 days, but many women can have cycles that fall outside of this "common norm" for many reasons (stress, new medication, etc.). However, the most common reason for a missed period is pregnancy.
Most home pregnancy tests say that they can detect the pregnancy hormone around the time of your missed period. Most are 99% accurate at detecting the pregnancy hormone when you are pregnant; but there can be misreadings on these tests (a negative test does not always mean you are not pregnant). A positive reading usually means you are pregnant, however.
If you are asking for reassurance to take a home pregnancy test now (that it is not too early), and if you are expecting your period to have already begun, then you are in a good time frame to use a home pregnancy test. Many kits come with multiple tests, so be sure to take another test in a few days to confirm the results! :)
Let us know what the results are, as I'm sure you will have many more questions, whether it is positive or negative.
