Let me be sure I am clear. Did you have cysts removed from either side of one ovary? Or cysts removed from both your ovaries? It doesn't matter for my answer, I just wasn't clear.
Two things to know right up front: Ovarian cysts are very common, and you are very young! Just because you've tried twice and haven't gotten pregnant is no cause for concern. Sometimes it takes healthy couples several months to a year to conceive, even if there are no problems.
Most ovarian cysts go away by themselves, according to the Mayo Clinic. I am assuming yours must have been giving you a lot of pain, to have had them removed? Do you have endometriosis or polycystic ovarian syndrome? Did your doctor say anything about either of those?
Some ovarian cysts can contribute to infertility. Do you remember what kind of cysts yours were? Some of the types are Functional Cysts, Cystadenomas, Dermoid Cysts, Endometriomas and Polycystic Ovaries. It is the last two that can affect your fertility. Here is a page that describes them all:
I hope that all helps a little bit. And how are you going about trying to have a baby? (Wait, I think I hear you saying, "Duh, unprotected sex!") LOL That's not what I meant. Do you know how to chart your periods and/or predict when you are ovulating?
