Nancy Drew Fan: My GP told me that it is not a good idea for me to get care off of my plan. She said that she has seen insurance not cover care after someone has done that. I appreciate the recommendation to call the doctor that you recommend, but I have to make sure that I stick to doctors who accept my insurance plan. My GP also said that there are not too many endocrinologists in the Phoenix area, so she was not surprised to find out that the quickest Dr. Knecht could get me in was October 21, 2009.
