Let me ask you this -- did they mention how large the cyst was on your ovary? Are you considering surgery to have it removed? Some cysts can be quite large and have this affect.

Is the distension in your abdomen more like a swelling? Or like a weight gain? Because you may also be affected by the mid-life weight gain many of us experience, which all seems to be centered around the belly (and doesn't seem to want to move no matter what we do.) It's very common for any weight we gain to be centered around our abdomen at this stage of life (I'm 51 and experiencing weight gain where I never carried weight before, and it's discouraging to say the least).

Do you have a pelvic ultrasound scheduled? Or another appointment with your ob/gyn?
