Can you tell where the stomach cramping/pain is coming from? Is it from your actual stomach, or your stomach-area (meaning, uterus or other reproductive organ) from "normal" menstrual cramping?
I'm glad to hear that you are calling your doctor, as with a history of ovarian cysts, you probably do not want to be too careful. I can tell you that we have had other women on this site who have been concerned about a 2nd period in the same month, so it is not uncommon. "Abnormal uterine bleeding", which is the name for several symptoms (periods too close together, unusually long periods, etc) can be caused by many things...any type of hormonal change (and, stress can cause this as well). Hormonal changes can also be caused by extreme or quick weight loss, so you may want to ask your doctor about this (if/when ovarian cysts are ruled out).
Do you mind if I ask you what diet pill your doctor prescribed? Have you done your research on the possible side effects, as well as what a healthy dose is? There are some diet pills that are approved by the FDA for short-term use, and we can send you this information if you are interested.
