I think your question is a very good one and one that women have wondered about. I believe that most OB/GYNS will advise women to wait at least six weeks after giving birth to have sexual intercourse. But honestly, most women that I know usually end up wanting to wait longer than that because they are just so tired taking care of a newborn! But that is entirely up to you and what you are comfortable with of course. But six weeks will probably be the medical advice that your doctor shares with you.
