Hi there - I just saw your post. A little late. Howare you doing? I have had very good results with ASTYM with very little pain from the treatments. I will just write what I know here... my PT happens to be the director of about 8 locations here in San Antonio/New Braunfels, and I think he also provides training for other ASTYM PTs. At a recent treatment I mentioned, "Wow, I thought this was supposed to be painful," he just kind of rolled his eyes and said, "Guess it depends on who is doing it." I didn't ask any other questions but wish I would have because you are not the only one writing this -- about intense pain in ASTYM treatments. Anyway, I'd look for another ASTYM person -- but maybe one with a LOT of experience and more letters after his name :) (not too sophisticated of an approach! - but I guess that would mean more schooling and experience.)
