I'm finding it hard to return to this site because of having been consumed by this subject for so long (since April of 2011 for me) with no solution. I think it's in the water. My neighbors water is slightly sticky (not their bodies), but mine is much worse, both city water. The water in a neighboring town is not sticky. My towels are sticky. I've tested my towels, water, and neighbors water on various friends and have found these results. I don't know what the answer is, but I'm thinking it might be something in the water system. Doctors don't know. Plumbers don't know. I don't know. It's absolute hell. And it's not healthy.
