Apparently Joe Jackson does not live with the family; his home is in Las Vegas. Though he does stay with the family when he is in Los Angeles.
He is outrageous. I was astonished over how quickly even the loss of his son seemed to be replaced by thoughts of money. It's like he has no real emotion.
Watching MJ's funeral, however, it was clear that the family is a close family unit, and that the children feel very close to their grandmother and Aunt Janet. They were surrounded by uncles and cousins as well. I can only hope that all those now-adults who grew up with Joe Jackson as their father will make sure the same thing doesn't happen to these three. They looked to be beloved kids in that family, which is good, because they will have more to go through than most kids as they get older. Just thinking of them having to get through through any possible custody battles or fights over the will makes me a little ill. They've lost their dad and they didn't have a mom. It's got to be the scariest thing in the world.
