I found this comment stream disturbing. The information provided about Locks of Love was close to what is stated on their website but was just slightly misread or misunderstood by the folks posting it that the information was actually posted contrary to what is stated on their website. This type of mischaracterization of any organization trying to help others causes harm to those children the organization is trying serve. Please be careful when sharing information as facts.

It is only children served by LOL and it is for many reasons not just for alopecia. However, alopecia is permanent hair loss and that is a pretty important issue for those children.

When LOL states that the retail cost of these hairpieces is $3500 to $6000 it is to give you a sense of how expansive this would be if one where to try to purchase one. This gives folks an idea of the value.

They give the hairpieces away free or on a sliding fee scale based upon financial need. Don't you think that a family that does have the resources to help pay for their child's hairpiece should so disadvantaged children can get theirs for free?

Children under 6 years (not 18) get synthetic hairpieces.

These facts are found on the same website all of you claimed to have read. Please be careful when sharing information. If you don't know for sure then don't share.
