Thanks so much for your supportive comments. My niece turned 14 this summer, finished her chemo just before school started, had an ileostomy bag and chose to start high school instead of receiving home-bound tutoring. She is a stronger person than me and I am so proud of her. Since then she's had her ileostomy reversed and is doing better every day. She had one breakdown when some teenagers doing volunteer work at the hospital tried to cheer her up by saying "Keep your chin up, big guy." Her hat with hair is not an option for her. :)
