I am so relieved to have found this forum as I have been experiencing symptoms very similar to that experienced by other woman... in particular the fluttering like little birds or in my chest... recently a sudden rush of blood to my head... I have had a 24 hr heart monitor, echo and treadmill tests which have failed to uncover anything untoward.. but nonethless the symtoms are increasing each day and now at 52 I am experiencing palpitations every day, sometimes two and three times a day, with unexplained rush of blood to my head. I have had the mirena coil fitted for more than five years ago... I believe symptoms may be heightened as I am now menopause age.. now that I have found this forum makes perfect sense to me as there has never been a connection with anything previously... needless to say, I am going to have the mirena coil removed with immediate effect.
