You have only been taking birth control for 1 week? I'm sure your prescribing doctor told you that you need to be using a back-up method of birth control (such as a condom) for the first month of using the pill, right?

I'm confused by your question, as you've only been on Yaz for 1 week, but your period came the 2nd week? And you missed 2 pills the 2nd week? Is this a 28-day pack you have, or something different? If it is a 28-day pack, your period would have been expected during week 4.

I would call your doctor, and talk with them about your missed pills, your early period.

Taking 1 pill can not prevent pregnancy; the main factors are that you missed pills when you've only just started on hormonal contraception, so your pills are not at their most effective at preventing a pregnancy (hormonal contraception works by either preventing ovulation or thickening cervical mucus).

Your period does not prevent you from being pregnant; your period means that you do not have a viable pregnancy. However, I am not sure if you had a period?

Please call your doctor, just to be on the safe side.
