Your doctor is correct--- pregnancy can not happen if sperm did not enter into your girlfriend's vagina. Sperm can not travel through clothes.
oh--and the correct name for "shoot it out" is "ejaculate", just so you know for next time!
I wanted to let you know that your body is creating sperm at all times. I had not heard that some young men think the act of not masturbating causes sperm to stop. This is not true; you have the capability of "getting a girl pregnant" at any time.
Also, anytime your penis is erect, whether you are masturbating or engaging in sexual activity with another person, your penis will have "pre-ejaculate" fluid on the tip. Pre-ejaculate fluid may contain sperm.
Lastly, it is possible to become pregnant and be a virgin. If a man ejaculates near or on a woman's vagina (and does not enter, so they are technically "virgins"), some very motivated sperm can theoretically travel into the vagina and fallopian tubes (where fertilization occurs).
Please be sure to talk with your girlfriend about using birth control (condoms for you and hormonal contraception for her) if you ever choose to have intercourse.
