Lizzie,
It is possible to become pregnant, even if intercourse is "only 20 seconds", when not using protection. I've read that the average length of time for human intercourse is 120 seconds (2 minutes), and that is also enough time for a pregnancy to occur.
What matters is that an erect penis has "pre-ejaculate" fluid on the tip, which may contain sperm, even if he did not ejaculate inside of you. The pregnancy risk is less without ejaculation, but there is still a risk.
When are you expecting your period? Do you have access to condoms, as this is the only way to protect yourself from STDs/STIs (sexually transmitted infections/diseases) and to prevent the stress & worry about a possible unwanted pregnancy. Are you able to negotiate with your partner, and have him use a condom each and every time you have intercourse?
