This aliment plagued me as well. I would go to sleep at night and wake up looking like Sloth from the Goonies. I did everything mentioned in this forum, and no results. The only thing I knew beyond a reason of a doubt was that the stimulus was in my bedroom, and that when I showered in the morning washing off my eye alleviated my symptoms. The later suggested that the reaction was caused by an allegeren that was coming in contact with my skin. I believe the stimulus is dust and mold in my room, but I cannot control dust and mold, it is everywhere! I am a scientist so I started to approach it like an untreatable disease and manage the symptoms. Since the stimulus occurred in my room I need to create a physical barrier between my eyes and the stimulus (allergen). Along with getting a Clarian pillowcase, I purchased an eye mask to shield my eyes from allergens at night. IT WORKED! I almost cried out of happiness. The masked I purchased is a Forty Blinks mask (Bed, Bath, and Beyond). It has an adjustable Velcro strap so you can tighten the mask, almost creating a seal between the mask and your face. I believe that is essential because regular mask will still let dust in. I put my mask in a zip lock bag at night so that dust and mold from the environment does not get on it. Even if the stimulus for you is not dust and mold it is still coming in contact with you skin at night, so I believe this method will still work. Good Luck!
