Hi Everyone,

I had to comment. 14 months ago I weight 175 ( I am 5'2, 28 years old, no babies). I gained about 30 pounds in grad school. I was always active in high school (varsity swim team, but as you all know college and grad school can easily put on the weight, replacing the gym with the library). Anyways, I did the 17 Day Diet and now I weight 120 pounds!!! I have kept it off. The 17 Day Diet is fantastic. Doing cardio intially for an hour so not good if you want to lose weight because your metabolism will sky rocket and you will be so hungry and want to eat everything. Follow the book, I stayed on Phase 1 for 2 months. I lost about 30 pounds in the first 4 months and then I became a vegan and lost another 20 pounds. It is all about portion controll, healthy eating (lost of fresh fruits and vegetables, avoid heavy salad dressing and cooking in oil, buy yourself a vegetable steamer!). Good luck to all of you out their. Find what works for you and don't give up. If you slip or fall off the wagon 1 day, don't worry. The next meal is a new meal. I slipped up all the time but I stayed patient and did not give up on myself. I am now training for a marathon and I have already ran a half marathon. Good luck, stay focused, stay positive. Also, at work people bring in goodies all the time, resist them! Don't be a people pleaser, it is ok to say NO, but is a nice way. You come first, your health comes first, and without your health you don't really have anything. You have to take care of yourself. Patience is key.
