Another thing that people who are calorie counting often overlook is the type of calories they are consuming when they are dieting. We shoot for low fat or fat free, but often that means many unwanted carbs. Our bodies need a healthy balance of fat too. One big thing I have saw when reviewing diet diaries is that people eat low cal, but lack enough protein to keep everything in balance. Protein and carbs both contain 4k/cal per gram, opposed to fat with 9k/cal per gram. So balance that protein out and eat away. Too many veggies and not enough protein can cause breakdown of muscles and slow down your weight loss as well. Eat a healthy balance.
