I have had the same problem for about a year now. My cycle had reduced from 28 days to 24 days just since April of this year, and the flow is much heavier for the 3 days I have it. I wanted to be certain that I was not miscalculating, so I got an app on my iphone called P-Tracker lite. It is a free app that you tap a button when you start and tap one when you stop. It also allows you to enter symptoms (headache, nausea, tenderness, mood swings, etc) and has a built-in calendar that estimates when you are ovulating. I recommend something like this to help you track your cycle and remove the guesswork. Knowing an estimate of when you will be ovulating can also help if you are trying to get pregnant. I am 40 yrs old and not having any more children, but the app helps me a lot to communicate things to my doc without having to remember everything. I just open it and I have all the dates. Also, if something concerns me, I place it in the notes section to remind me to ask my doctor. Its all right there and helps reduce my anxiety. Hope this info helps someone.
