Frankly, I think it's very rude of meeting participants to proselytize everyone else about what they should or should not be consuming or to carry on about their personal issues. If someone makes the effort to bring food to the meeting, people should be gracious and simply not partake, if it goes against their diets or "principles."

For a time, and for health reasons, I had to follow a vegetarian regimen. So what if I was relegated to crudites and fruit; no big deal. There was no need to make an issue of it.

So, I'm with you - just stick to the agenda and we all just might accomplish something at the meeting, LOL!
