Hello, and welcome to EmpowHer!

Axona is marketed as a "medical food," and is given by prescription (at retail pharmacies) under a doctor's supervision for patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's. The company that markets it says that it helps make up for nutritional definicies in the brain that Alzheimer's patients may have. Here is a page about Axona from the Mayo Clinic:

You should know that the Alzheimer's Association doesn't recommend "medical foods" for the treatment of Alzheimer's, including Axona. Is this something that your doctor has mentioned?
