hello, last week i was admitted into the hospital for a kidney infection, and a colon infection. while i was in the hospital, the doc ordered a foley catheter be put in to monitor the urine. the foley was left in for 2 days. i have spina bifida, and self-cath 4-5 times a day. The day after I got out of the hospital, i was cathing myself, and notice swelling of the vagina lips. I thought at first it was just irritation from having the foley in for so long, but here it is a week later with no change. it's making it difficult for me to cath myself and I'm starting to get worried.. do you know if this is normal after having a foley in, or if it's something i should worry about? if i should get it checked out, should i go to a gyn or urologist? I have no idea if this has anything to do with, it but my legs are also swollen.. I was told that could be from iv fluids though. i've checked online and can't find much info. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
