Hi Shaina - I enjoyed reading your thought-provoking and informative article. I agree with you that AIDS prevention in the US is less about accessiblity and more about the choices we make. I'd just add that much more information needs to be readily available, especially for young women, on why they need to protect themselves and stand up for their own rights and health. The number of public service campaigns about HIV/AIDS, and public information vehicles, seems to have gone down significantly in recent years. I'd like to see more done to get the message out, especially for those new to sexual activity whose only educational experience may have been an abstinence course.
